Alberta's Fastest Growing Companies 2005 is presented by Alberta Venture magazine with the assistance of Grant Thornton Chartered Accountants and Management Consultants and the sponsorship of several other leading corporations. Alberta-based businesses with at least three years of operation were invited to complete and submit a Growth Questionnaire. From the submitted information, companies were ranked by assessing points for 10 different categories, including growth in gross sales, assets, profitability and employees, as well as product development, incentive programs, investment in research and development, capital expenditures, marketing and export activity. Growth was reviewed both year over year and for the entire three-year period.

Upside Software has increased sales in just four short years by a whopping 1,984% and profits have grown by over 455%.
